I felt so bad for Dana this episode.
She gets into a position of power, only to find that she really doesn’t have any power at all.
She tries to do something good, only to be taken away and lose a little bit of herself.
She gets dressed up as someone else - forced to say someone else’s words.
And I know that Night Vale is amazing at political commentary, and I know that this is likely so true in real life politics.

Europeans: I drove forty minutes to the Netherlands for some groceries and then I popped into Germany to see some of my relatives before driving back home.
Americans: I was in Florida, I drove for nine hours, now I'm still in Florida.
Whenever I mention someone in my household being on foodstamps, someone brings up their tax dollars. Like I don’t also pay taxes. Like 4/5 of my household don’t pay taxes. Like, yeah, those are my tax dollars, too. I like them going to people getting basic human needs met.
